1. 1. This Request for Service Qualifications ("RFSQ") is an invitation by the University of Waterloo (UW) to prospective Respondents for Submissions indicating their organization’s capability, experience and qualifications to submit non-binding responses for the provision of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Consulting Services for RFSQ-WR#50124.  Respondents must have relevant experience in research laboratories requiring extremely tight environmental tolerances for humidity, temperature, vibration, electromagnetic frequencies etc.  Research environments may include metrology suites, specialized optic (laser) tables, clean rooms, nano-particle labs, cold atom laboratories, infrared/free electron lasers, hydrogen fuel research and/or equipment, additive manufacturing among various other criteria.
   2. This RFSQ is stage one in the process to identify pre-qualified Mechanical and Electrical consultants. The intent of the pre-qualification process is to select a short-list of up to five (5) Respondents of each discipline who will be invited to future Requests for Proposals (“RFPs”) for a variety of renovations and lab fit-outs where the nature of the research is highly specialized.  Consultant proposals must highlight proven experience, demonstrated by highly specialized laboratory projects completed in the last five (5) years.
