The TTC requires the services of a Consultant for the Younge Subway Extension station designs. The Work of this Contract includes, but is not limited to, the services necessary and required for the design of the facility and its elements.
The Yonge Subway Extension (YSE) is a 7.42 km extension of the Yonge Subway Line 1 from Finch Station to the Richmond Hill/Langstaff Gateway Urban Growth Centre at Highway 7. The YSE is a cross-jurisdictional project spanning the City of Toronto, City of Markham, City of Vaughan and Town of Richmond Hill, with 1.61 km in the City of Toronto (south of Steeles Avenue) and 5.81km in York Region (north of Steeles Avenue).
The project comprises a total of 5.08km of twin-bored tunnel, five stations, two major bus terminals, two bus loops, five substations and eight emergency exit buildings (EEBs). It will include one bridge, six cross passages, 513m of twin or triple box structure, as well as an 831m below grade triple track train storage facilty for fourteen trains, associated maintenance building and staff parking north of the Richmond Hill Centre Station. There are three sections of special track work: the extension of the Finch Tail tracks, the crossover south of Steeles Station and the corssover south of Richmond Hill Station.
