RFP 23-01 - RFP 23-01 Denture Services

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit serves the residents and vacationers of Simcoe County and the District of Muskoka. The Health Unit offers a wide range of health services focused on promoting and protecting health and preventing disease, illness and injury.

The Health Unit serves a population of approximately 511,000 residents across a geographic area of 8,730 square kilometers. Programs and services are delivered from a variety of locations throughout Simcoe and Muskoka. 

The Ontario Government’s launched the Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program (OSDCP) to provide eligible seniors with access to publicly funded dental services. The health unit provides dental services to seniors who have been enrolled in the program by the Ministry of Health. These seniors have been provided by the third-party administrator with an OSDCP card that verifies their enrolment and the date the card will expire.

It is estimated that approximately close to 5000 eligible seniors may access the program in Simcoe Muskoka. The health unit is seeking to enter in a Provider Agreement(s) with denturists (in good standing with the College of Denturists of Ontario) for the provision of removable prosthodontic services.

Denturists who become preapproved vendors through the health unit’s RFP process will be able to accept referrals from the health unit, see clients in their denture clinics and work collaboratively with the clinical dentists and health unit administration
