The Regional District of Central Kootenay has many Regional Parks and Recreation Services; with this Request for Proposal, the District is seeking a qualified proponent to work with local Recreation Commissions and RDCK staff to establish community-based priorities for recreation, parks, trails and leisure facilities services. The Master Plan is expected to provide a framework for making decisions, based on an assessment of the aspirations, needs, priorities, and financial abilities of residents of the study area: Creston, Areas A, B and C. The RDCK acknowledges that the study area is located within the traditional territory of the Ktunaxa Nation and the Yaqan Nukiy people.
The major responsibilities of the consultants will be to:
- gather and analyze existing information and compare to similar regions;
- identify and deliver a public participation strategy;
- prepare a draft plan with options, and
- prepare a final plan.
