204700 - RFP# 24-28 Fuel Management Prescription Plan – City of Duncan

This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the Cowichan Valley Regional District (the “CVRD”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for  Fuel Management Prescription Plan – City of Duncan

The CVRD is seeking a qualified proponent to develop a fuel management prescription plan potentially followed by a BC Wildlife Service (BCWS) approved fuel reduction treatment for a 5 hectare area in the City of Duncan for the Centennial Parkland and the Rotary McAdam Parkland corridors. This fuel management plan will be undertaken as part of the CVRD Central Zone Community Wildfire Prevention Plan (CWPP, 2019).
It is anticipated that the Fuel Management Plan will identify 2.5 ha, in each of the two City of Duncan forest corridors, as a proposed treatment unit due to their proximity to residences, high human activity throughout the year, and juxtaposition with Critical Infrastructure. The prescription plan, to be reviewed by BCWS, will provide the framework and objectives for the fuel treatment phase to reduce the availability of wildfire fuels within strategic areas of the City of Duncan corridors.
