Bid Call
.1 Offers signed under seal, executed, and dated will be received by the Owner at the Consultant's office located at 130 Somerset Street, Saint John, New Brunswick, E2K 2X4 on or before 11:00 hours local time on Thursday, the 22nd day of February, 2024.
.2 Offers submitted after the above noted time will not be accepted and shall be returned to
the bidder unopened.
.3 Offers will be opened immediately after the time for receipt of bids.
.4 Amendments to the submitted offer will be permitted, if received in writing prior to bid
closing, and if endorsed by the same party or parties who signed and sealed the offer. Facsimile transmitted amendments to bids are acceptable if received by the Consultant
prior to bid closing.
Intent
.1 The intent of this bid call is to obtain offers to perform work to complete the Liner Supply & Installation - Containment Cell #13 located at the Hemlock Knoll Sanitary Landfill at Lawrence Station, New Brunswick for a Unit Price Contract, in accordance with Standard Construction Document CCDC 4 (2011).
.2 The installation start date will be co-ordinated with the Owner, depending on weather conditions. It is anticipated this work will commence June 17, 2024.
.3 Perform the Work within the time stated. Contract is to be complete by August 2, 2024.
.4 In the event the Contractor does not complete the work on or before the Completion Date specified, the Contractor shall pay liquidated damages to the Owner, at a prescribed daily rate as set out in the Contract Documents, for each Day, except Sunday(s) and statutory holidays, that such shortfall continues beyond the specified Completion Date, and this shall continue to be paid until the work is completed.
a) The prescribed daily rate shall be the extra cost to the Owner for general
administration and inspection for that portion of the work extending beyond the
completion date.
.5 The opportunity to complete the work within this timeframe is limited. The Contractor must beprepared to carry out the following:
a) Provide all required submittals immediately upon award of the project.
b) Commence site work on the date stated as agreed upon by Southwest NB Service
Commission.
c) Schedule site work on weekends, if required.
d) Continue site work on continuous basis until completed as weather permits with a
completion date of August 2, 2024.
