As the largest user of uniform clothing, Plant Operations is coordinating a contract on behalf of multiple University of Waterloo departments that require a uniform clothing supplier that can provide a full-service measuring and uniform clothing fulfillment program for campus. (There are other divisions within the University that supply uniform clothing to staff, however, this contract does NOT include all of those requirements at this time. As such, this contract is non-exclusive.) At times, there are also requirements for a retail outlet type of solution, to meet immediate needs and one-off situations; this may be dealt with separately, or, as part of this contract, depending upon proposal recommendations.
The quality of the uniform clothing provided must be balanced with excellent service to the departments and its employees. Delivery time, accuracy of sizing, and reliability of supply are also important factors that the University will take into consideration along with quality and cost. The uniform clothing requirements are broken into three (3) primary groups – standard, flame resistant, and, outdoor clothing. The University reserves the right to award this contract separately, by group. Bidders do not have to bid on all groups.
