DESCRIPTION: OCAD University requires such services for an initial One-time only beginning on or about October 31, 2022.
This Request for Proposals (“RFP”) is an invitation to interested vendors (“Respondents”) to submit Proposals (“Responses”) to OCAD University (“OCAD U”) for the Student Wellness Centre (SWC) Service Design Review. A project that will focus on a comprehensive evaluation and creation of an integrated model of care rooted in accessibility and equity across the multidisciplinary SWC programs. (the “Project”).
OCAD University is the largest and most comprehensive art, design and media university in Canada with a student population of approximately 5000 students. In 2020-21 OCADU student admissions included 3, 929 undergraduate students (2,889.25 domestic students and 1,039.45 international students) and 261 graduate students (190.3 domestic and 70.3 international). Situated in the downtown core of Toronto, Ontario, OCADU is a 100% commuter school with no onsite housing residences and 25% of the student population are mature students. See Appendix A for a breakdown of OCADU student demographics.
The Student Wellness Centre (SWC) at OCAD University provides health and wellness services to all students and serves approximately 2000 domestic and/or international students per year. The SWC is comprised of 6 program areas (1) Counselling/Case Management, (2) Health (physician and psychiatry), (3) Student Accessibility Services, (4) Peer Wellness Program, (5) Sexual Violence Response, and (6) Student Conduct. These programs are located at 230 Richmond Street and occupy two separate spaces over two floors. There have been challenges to successfully utilize the SWC space and a goal of this Service Design Review is to provide consultation on a student centric space re-design. The common thread within the SWC services is supporting students with their mental health needs and 80% of the students accessing these services identify as having a mental health issue. As such, a primary goal of this Service Design Review is to integrate the SWC programs to provide greater access to mental health support for students in unique and creative ways. The SWC is committed to providing accessible, inclusive, and equitable programs to the dynamic OCAD U student population and advancing our services with diversity in mind is another focus of this Service Design Review.
