THE DELIVERABLES
1. Background
Ornge is a regulated not for profit company that provides air and land ambulance services under an agreement with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. Included in the functions of Ornge are the roles inherent in the procurement, maintenance, dispatch, staffing and operation of a fleet of land ambulances, fixed wing and rotor wing aircraft. The medical teams provide services aboard aircraft and vehicles staffed with highly trained paramedics and pilots.
Ornge has over 600 employees, including paramedics, paediatric transport paramedics, pilots, aircraft maintenance engineers, transport medicine physicians and dispatch communications officers both medical and flight.
2. Services
Ornge is seeking to secure the services of a strategic vendor to provide maintenance and management of its SAP ERP Version ECC 6. In addition to provide support in the implementation of additional modules or expansion of existing modules’ functionalities. We also require support to enhance the business functionality within SAP that may be required as a result of growth, increasing business requirements and/or improvement to existing business processes.
The selected vendor will also be required to maintain the hardware platform detailed in section 2.1 below, that supports our SAP software system. We require a professional to offer advice on the expansion or enhancement of our hardware to support our increasing business demands. This requirement is most suitable to a professional that offers combined experience and background in healthcare and aviation. Ornge currently has about one hundred and twenty users of the SAP system and currently spend about $50k-$75k per year on maintenance and support.
The objective of this RFP is to procure the services of an SAP implementation service provider to assist Ornge in the following:
- Maintenance and management of SAP application;
- Assist in the implementation of additional modules and expansion of existing modules functionalities to improve Ornge’s business processes and reporting.

2.2 User Environment
We anticipate a significant increase in SAP usage and configuration of additional modules as the need arises. Ornge currently uses Financial Accounting (FI), Controlling (CO), Sales and Distribution (SD) and Materials Management (MM) modules. Ornge is an evolving organization with tight timelines therefore client’s ability to be proactive would be critical to a successful relationship.
