Project Background
The OEB would like to adopt an e-Discovery system to assist in responding to information requests, including freedom of information requests. The requests should track around 7 TB of data in e-mails / related attachments and file servers in the following network environment.
The network environment supports 170 employees on a few floors and utilizes MS Windows Server 2012 R2 for Active Directory, Domain Controllers, DNS, DHCP, E-mail, File, Print and various Application servers. Most servers in Production and all servers in Development and UAT are on a VMware 6.0 virtualized environment.
The e-mail system uses MS Exchange Server 2016 on a MS Windows Server 2012 R2 system along with Trend Micro 7.5 spam / gateway and has around 4 TB of data. The Productivity suite is MS Office / Outlook 2016.
There are two major applications namely, Pivotal CRM 6.5.3 / UX (From Aptean) and HPE Content Manager v9.1 document management that are integrated and form the core business application at the OEB. These applications are installed on MS Windows Server 2012 R2 and connected to a MS SQL Server 2014 database environment.
Daily and weekly backup of data is done using Veritas NetBackup 7.5 application on a MS Windows Server 2012 R2. Snapshots and data are replicated to an offsite vendor named Storage Guardian for Data Recovery purposes.
Objective
To implement a solution to respond more efficiently to information requests. This solution must capture relevant data in e-mails / related attachments and file servers and should be able to capture relevant data in HPE Content Manager and Aptean Pivotal if needed.
