Shared Health currently runs immunohistochemistry procedures at four (4) separate sites in Manitoba: St. Boniface Hospital, Grace General Hospital, Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg and Westman Laboratory in Brandon (the “Sites”).
Shared Health is soliciting for staining platform capable of IHC and ISH to replace existing instrumentation at the Sites, to include on-going non-exclusive purchase of related consumables (reagents), LIS interfacing, delivery and installation of new instrumentation systems at the sites, decommissioning of existing instrumentation, training and implementation tasks, and Warranty and Post-Warranty Service as part of this purchase. Additionally; the vendor will be entering into a partnership with Shared Health to ensure we maintain a high-quality immunohistochemistry service for our Manitoba patients, thus;
- the proposed IHC/ISH Stainers should be open to using any antibodies, probes, buffers, detection systems and chromogens available on the market in order for Shared Health staff to provide the highest quality slides for Manitoba pathologists. For the ISH component of the platform chromogenic detection is preferred over fluorescence; and
the proponents responding to this RFP should be receptive to working with Shared Health to utilize process improvement tools i.e., LEAN principles as part of this initiative to gain efficiencies in the system.
