This Request for Proposals (the “Solicitation”) is an invitation by the Government of Manitoba (“Manitoba”), as represented by the Minister of Consumer Protection and Government Services, to prospective Vendors to obtain Submissions for the Provision of Property and Casualty Insurance Brokerage, Risk Management and Related Services, as further described in Section A of the Solicitation Particulars (Appendix A) and Appendix B – Scope of the Deliverables.
The Insurance and Risk Management Branch (IRM) administers insurance purchasing on behalf of certain government departments and agencies. Utilizing insurance brokers, Manitoba purchases numerous insurance policies including, but not limited to Property, Boiler & Machinery, Liability (including Errors & Omissions and Directors & Officers), Automobile SRE, Aviation, Marine, Crime, and Cyber Liability coverage.
The Branch also administers a Self-Insurance Fund for participating government agencies. Property and liability premium contributions for deposit to the fund and allocations of commercial and Self-Insurance Fund premiums are calculated annually by the tendered actuarial firm.
