Description

The Extended Asset Condition Reporting System Program (E-ACRS) arranges inspections of Indigenous Service Canada (ISC)-funded infrastructure once every 3 years. It’s part of ISC’s Capital Facilities and Maintenance Program.
ISC provides funding to cover the cost of professional services to conduct on-site comprehensive inspections of ISC-funded assets.
E-ACRS supports First Nations communities by:

outlining ongoing and periodic lifecycle needs of their infrastructure
providing information to First Nations so they can actively plan for and manage the life expectancy requirements of each asset

E-ACRS inspections include an assessment of each infrastructure asset’s:

general condition
day-to-day operation and maintenance
current deficiencies
periodic replacement of major and main components
estimated remaining life
end of life considerations

Following each inspection:

the First Nation receives an executive summary of all findings as part of the E-ACRS final report
ISC receives inspection reports to update ISC’s Integrated Capital Management System, also referred to as ICMS

E-ACRS expands on the previous ACRS inspections by capturing data used by First Nations communities in Asset Management Planning. This includes:

more comprehensive inspection of infrastructure by assessing each asset’s major and main components
providing a forecast of the timing and estimate of the cost for each component’s periodic replacement needs, including end of life considerations
