20220006 - Powell Drive Street Upgrading Phase 2

Powell Drive is the main collector street for the Town of Carbonear that connects the downtown area to the provincial highway route 70. There are a number of businesses on the North side of the street, and growing, and also a number of residences on the South side of the street. This project will see improved traffic and pedestrian movement in this area.
The project consists of upgrades to the stormwater and street infrastructure in the Town of Carbonear. Building upon the upgrades from phase 1, completed in 2021, the scope of the project includes street widening to accommodate a centre turning lane, sidewalk on one side, and improved stormwater collection. The limits of construction are between Goff Avenue and the bridge at Powell’s Brook, approximately 400 metres.
