Located in the heart of the nation’s capital, Saint Paul University (est. 1848) is the founding college of the University of Ottawa, with which it has been federated since 1965. Known for its small class sizes, personalized service, bilingual environment, humanities programs and Catholic intellectual tradition, this human scale institution has entered into a major phase of modernization with recent projects such as a new Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre, the renovation of the Student Life Centre, the creation of the new School of Social Innovation, and most recently the renovation of it’s a 300-seat auditorium.

Guigues Hall, 223 Main Street, Ottawa, was originally built in 1957 and it has seen little modification or renovation since.

This modernization project aims to complete the final phases of our master plan for the Saint-Paul University Academic Building.  This project includes base building updates and renovation of the Guigues Pavilion following the active renovation of our auditorium.

The project includes partial fit-up of all four floors of Guigues Hall.  HVAC systems, fire protection systems and energy-efficient windows are also needed throughout the building.  USP has already selected a Mechanical & Electrical Engineering firm for the HVAC design, additional services are required to complete the full building’s HVAC systems and fire protection systems for the remaining floors and spaces.  The University is also looking for long-term energy efficient solutions to the building’s envelope, mostly window replacement since there is little or no insulation in the exterior walls.
