. The intent of the project is to replace approximately 420,131 SF of Electrical Service and Distribution at the London Courthouse in London, ON.
This project was generated from 2020 electrical study recommendations.
Electrical service for the building is provided via underground by local Hydro via two (2) separate feeds which are designated as 13M1 Sec1 and 13M3 Sec2. The main switchboard consists of two (2) tubs which are designated as DSBAA (AAA), 1600 ampere, 347.600 volts, 3 phase, 4 wire and DSBA, 1600 ampere, 347.600 volts, 3 phase, and 4 wire. The supply is fed from the two (2) switchboards throughout the building via distribution panels and breakers.
Main scope of work includes:
• Replace entire switchboard with proper KA rating to withstand the available fault current.
• Replace fuse or breaker or upgrading feeders as required. Conductors are not properly protected by the upstream protective device between the following equipment: DPEEE to T7, T7 to panel EC, DPEEE to T9, T9 to panel GEN2, D-MCC3 to MCCno3, DPCC to panel 3C, DPDD to panel 2F, DPDD to panel 2H, DP7JJ to panel 6A.
• Reduce the breaker. Fuse size to be rated no more than 125% of the full load of transformer T9 and T8.
• Replace Distribution, emergency, and lighting panels (22 total) with proper KA rating, as equipment short circuit rating failed to withstand the available fault current.
• Check branch circuit loading on PP2E and PP10B, check connections and refeed existing loads from new circuits
• All of the adjustable low voltage electronic trip and thermal magnetic circuit breakers and medium voltage equipment should be tested and adjusted according to the recommended settings given in the attached coordination analysis prepared by Eaton.
