Description

The City of Iqaluit Department of Public Works and Engineering (the City) is issuing a
Request for Tender (RFT) for qualified Proponents to provide construction services as
further outlined in this RFT document. The purpose and objective of this project is to
upgrade the existing sanitary sewer between access vault (AV) 253 and the Wastewater
Treatment Plant (WWTP), to provide this section of sewer with sufficient capacity for the
anticipated future flows that are to be received at the WWTP. This objective will be
achieved by demolishing the existing sewer main and associated access vaults, and
replacing with new, larger sanitary sewer piping along with replacement AVs, as
depicted on the drawings. A bypass system will be required for the sanitary sewer
throughout construction to maintain flows to the WWTP. Construction is scheduled to
occur in October 2020.
