Smithers Regional Airport Airside Pavement Rehabilitation

The Town of Smithers (the “Town”) is seeking to undertake improvements to enhance safety of airport operations at the Smithers Regional Airport. As part of this work, the Town is proposing a rehabilitation of its airfield pavements as part of the continued long-term safety and reliability of the airfield.

Funding in part for the project has been made possible in part through Transport Canada’s Airports Capital Assistance Program (ACAP).

Based on the submissions received under this Tender, the Town intends to immediately proceed to a construction phase of the proposed work.

The Town invites open tenders from qualified Contractors for the contract:

SMITHERS REGIONAL AIRPORT
AIRSIDE PAVEMENT REHABILITATION
in accordance with the Tender Documents, Specifications and Drawings.

Tender package can be downloaded from MERX www.merx.com. Proponents will be responsible for registering with MERX to be able to download all the necessary documents related to this solicitation.

Offers signed under seal, executed, and dated will be received through MERX.

The work to be executed under this contract comprises the following contract items (list is indicative of major contract items only and any quantities are approximate):

Partial Depth Asphalt Milling - 100,000 m2
Supply and Place Hot Mix Asphalt - 20,000 tonnes
Supply and Place Granular Base - 2,000 tonnes
Supply and Place Granular Sub-Base - 6,000 tonnes
Common Excavation - 3,000 m3
Storm Drainage Works
Electrical Works
Pavement Line Markings

Tender Submission Deadline: June 28, 2021 at 2:00pm (PDT).

Queries or clarifications requested by bidders must be submitted in writing and received by the email address and date/time indicated and in the Tender documents. Reply will be in form of an addendum, a copy of which will be posted to MERX no later than two (2) business days before receipt of Tenders.
