General information

Scope includes general requirements for demolition, installation, testing, and commissioning of a new overhead door system for train doors. This document defines the project scope of work required to replace up to but not included (4) overhead train doors. This project scope is intended to purchase, an overhead train door inclusive of all parts required to be purchased and installed as a “full-kit”, complete with warranty and suggested maintenance program.

Two Maintenance Centers are concerned by this tender :

Winnipeg Maintenance Center : 569 BRANDON AVENUE, WINNIPEG, MB R3L 2V7, Canada
Vancouver Maintenance Center: 1100 STATION STREET, VANCOUVER, BC V6A 4C7, Canada

Tenderers will have the choice to submit a tender for :

Winnipeg Maintenance Center only
Vancouver Maintenance Center only
Or for the Two Maintenance Centers

Mandatory requirements

1/ Insurance
Tenderer has the following minimal insurance coverage:

Commercial General Liability Insurance of [$5,000,000]
Standard Owners Form Automobile Liability Insurance of [$2,000,000]
All Risks insurance policy

Tenderer is requested to provide proof of meeting these insurance requirements by submitting a copy of their existing certificate in this Form of Tender.

2/ Commitment to respect all requirements and specifications
The offer’s Tenderer is complying with VIA requirements published and the Tenderer commits to respect them during the entire contract.

3/ Maintenance services
The tenderer is complying with VIA to provide maintenance services for the Overhead doors as mentioned in Article 9.0 of the scope of work.

Preventive maintenance: 4 quarterly inspections
A corrective maintenance: Tenderer must be on site within 48 hours following a call made by VIA

4/ Company profile
Tenderer must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in overhead doors replacement and maintenance.

5/ Employees profile
The employees must have :

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in overhead door replacement work, including mechanical, electrical, and some minor structural repairs, or welding
Millwright or Electrician Certifications

For (2) the Tenderer must provide as proof the certification documents.

6/ Overhead door delivery / installation
The Overhead doors must be (a) deliver within 6 weeks from date of order and (b) the installation must begin directly after the date of the delivery.

For (a) the Tenderer must show it in the timeline section doc#5.1.1.2
