DescriptionA - Previous Amendment

Phase 1 : Replacement of the platform 3 and 4 escalators. Refurbishement of the two VIA Rail freight elevators.

Phase 2 (to be considered and priced as an option): Replacement of the control panel of all the four (4) elevators of the building.

Mandatory Requirements

1/ Insurance
Tenderer has the following minimal insurance coverage:

Commercial General Liability Insurance of [$10,000,000]
Standard Owners Form Automobile Liability Insurance of [$5,000,000]
All Risks insurance policy

Tenderer is requested to provide proof of meeting these insurance requirements by submitting a copy of their existing certificate in this Form of Tender.

2/ Site Visit
Winnipeg Station , July 30th, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. Central

Winnipeg station, 123 Main street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. To meet at the train station hall

The Tenderer must sign on Site Visit Register

3/ Commitment to respect all requirements and specifications
The offer’s Tenderer is complying with VIA requirements published and the Tenderer commits to respect them during the entire project.

4/Experiences
General Contractor must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in similar projects.
Subcontractors specialized in elevators must have 10 years’ of experience in elevator works.
Other specialized subcontractors must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in their related expertise of work.

5/Date of completion of work
Phase 1: The works must be substantially completed within 64 weeks upon the contract award date.
Phase 2 (optional): The works must be substantially completed within 16 weeks upon the date of VIA Rail approval.

6/Letter of Credit and bid bond or Bond Requirement

Bid Bond (10%)
Performance Bond (50%)
Material/Labour Bond (50%)

Provide a letter signed by an authorized representative of a recognized financial institution, stating that if the Tendered is awarded the contract they will issue a letter of credit for an amount equivalent to 50% of the value of the initial yearly contract fee and each subsequent contract year. Bid Bond issued in favour or VIA dated and signed by an authorized representative of the Surety

Or

(1) Bid Bond issued in favour or VIA dated and signed by an authorized representative of the Surety
(2)& (3) Tenderer to provide VIA with a letter issued in favour or VIA dated and signed by an authorized representative of the Surety stating that if the Tender is successful, insurance policies in accordance with the contract will be issued following contract award.
