VIA Rail is looking to identify and select a Supplier to upgrade the Guard house and the controlled site access points of the Toronto Maintenance Centre (TMC) in Etobicoke, Ontario. The main entrance is located at 50 Drummond Street and is equipped with a Guard House, motorized rolling gates, boom barriers and key card based physical access controls. The secondary entrance, located at the end of Eighth Street, includes a motorized rolling gate, a pedestrian access gate and a key card based physical access controls. Both access points’ security equipment will need to be replaced; architectural, mechanical, electrical and civil upgrades will be required to proceed with this project.
In order to present a valid Tender, the Tenderer will have to be able to meet the following mandatory requirements:
1. Insurance: Tenderer has the following minimal insurance coverage:
a) Commercial General Liability Insurance of [$10,000,000]
b) Standard Owners Form Automobile Liability Insurance of [$5,000,000]
c) All Risks insurance policy
2. Letter of Credit and bid bond or Bond Requirements
a) Bid Bond (10%)
b) Performance Bond (50%)
c) Material/Labour Bond (50%)
3.Site Visit
Attend mandatory site visit at Toronto Maintenance Centre, June 12th, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. Eastern.
4. Experiences
(a) General Contractor must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in similar project.
(b) Subcontractors must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in their related expertise of work.
5. Date of completion of Work: The works must be substantially completed on or before December 20th, 2019.
