ITT201801015 - Rehabilitation of Twelve (12) Bridges on the ALX, BCB, SM and BRKV Subdivisions

The project generally includes, but is not strictly limited to:
1.Resurfacing of the concrete at the entire structure, supply and installation of a trainmen’s walkway, construction of a concrete block retaining wall and installation of a waterproofing system at Mile 7.95 on the Alexandria Subdivision in Eastern Ontario;
2.Supply and installation of a two new steel spans, abutment backwall modifications, trainmen’s walkway installation and removal and disposal of the existing spans at Mile 13.51 on the Alexandria Subdivision in Eastern Ontario;
3.Resurfacing of the concrete at the two abutments, reconstruction of the bearing seats using steel pedestals, supply and installation of new bearings and installation of two VIA supplied approach track VTRAS transition modules at Mile 21.02 on the Alexandria Subdivision in Eastern Ontario;
4. Resurfacing of the concrete at the two abutments and minor steel repairs at Mile 61.40 on the Alexandria Subdivision in Eastern Ontario;
5.Masonry repairs at one of the existing bearings at Mile 0.29 on the Beachburg Subdivision in Eastern Ontario;
6.Minor concrete repairs at a centre pier column and edge of deck slab, repair of a concrete slope protection slab and minor steel repairs at the handrail post anchor bolts at Mile 0.81 on the Beachburg Subdivision in Eastern Ontario;
7.Resurfacing of the concrete at one column of the centre pier, repair of a concrete slope protection slab and minor steel repairs at the walkway grating at Mile 4.35 on the Beachburg Subdivision in Eastern Ontario;
8.Resurfacing of the concrete at all the columns of the three piers at Mile 5.20 on the Beachburg Subdivision in Eastern Ontario;
9.Resurfacing of the concrete at the two abutments and reconstruction of the bearing seats using steel pedestals at Mile 9.26 on the Smiths Falls Subdivision in Eastern Ontario;
10.Resurfacing of the concrete at the two abutments, installation of anchor dowels at a cracked abutment cap and installation of handrail panels at the ballast walls at Mile 12.29 on the Smiths Falls Subdivision in Eastern Ontario;
11.Resurfacing of the concrete at the two abutments and minor steel repairs at Mile 21.21 on the Smiths Falls Subdivision in Eastern Ontario;
12.Resurfacing of the concrete at the two abutments at Mile 6.90 on the Brockville Subdivision in Eastern Ontario;
 
For some of the bridge locations, the Work involves working in watercourses and as such, the contractor shall be aware of the provisions embodied in the Transport Canada – Navigation Protection Act, and shall follow the procedures and mitigation measures listed therein to protect these waterways and surrounding areas.

In order to be able to submit a tender the Tenderer must comply with the following mandatory criteria:
1-Tenderer  has the following minimal insurance coverage:
a)Commercial General Liability Insurance of for a minimum amount of $25 000 000 combined limit per occurrence with a global policy aggregate of at least $50 000 000 
b)Standard Owners Form Automobile Liability Insurance of [$5,000,000]
c)Contractor’s Pollution Liability of $10 000 000
d)All Risks insurance policy
2-Be present at the mandatory site visit
3-The work including demobilization must be completed 175 calendar days after the Contract Award.
4-Tenderer must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in bridge concrete and steel works.
5-Project manager must have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in project management.
The site supervisor must have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in bridge concrete and steel works.
6-Written confirmation from the WSIB having jurisdiction over the location of the work certifying that the Tenderer is in good standing.
7-Tenderer must have access (rented or owned) to hi-rail mounted vehicles or cranes or barges with hydraulic lifts
8-Letter of Credit of 50%
