DescriptionA - Previous Amendment

The VIA Rail - Ottawa Station will undergo a series of strategic building upgrades necessary to position the Station as a major transportation hub for VIA Rail's eastern corridor. To support the planned building upgrades to the East Wing of the Station, this project has been created to advance the pre-construction demolition and construction activities within the West Wing of the station with the objective to provide a temporary Business Lounge capable to allow the East Wing renovation projects to proceed.

Mandatory requirements

1) Insurance
Tenderer has the following minimal insurance coverage:

Commercial General Liability Insurance of [$5,000,000]
Standard Owners Form Automobile Liability Insurance of [$2,000,000]
All Risks insurance policy

Tenderer is requested to provide proof of meeting these insurance requirements by submitting a copy of their existing certificate in this Form of Tender.

2) Site Visit
Ottawa Station, April 3rd, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. EASTERN TIME
Ottawa Train Station - VIA Rail
200 Tremblay Rd, Ottawa ON K1G 3H

Meeting Point: At the main entrance, close to the model train displays at the North-West corner of the Main Concourse
Tenderer must sign the site visit register.

3) Experiences
(a) General Contractor must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in similar project.
(b) Subcontractors must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in civil.

4) Completion of the work
The works must be substantially completed within 12 weeks upon the contract award date.

Tenderers must show the date of end of works in the proposed schedule including the key dates.

5) Commitment to respect all requirements and specifications
The Tenderer is complying with VIA requirements published and the Tenderer commits to respect them during the entire project.

6) Letter of Credit and bid bond or Bond Requirements:

Bid Bond (10%)
Performance Bond (50%)
Material/Labour Bond (50%)

Provide a letter signed by an authorized representative of a recognized financial institution, stating that if the Tendered is awarded the contract they will issue a letter of credit for an amount equivalent to 50% of the value of the initial yearly contract fee and each subsequent contract year. Bid Bond issued in favor or VIA dated and signed by an authorized representative of the Surety
Or
(1) Bid Bond issued in favor or VIA dated and signed by an authorized representative of the Surety

(2)& (3) Tenderer to provide VIA with a letter issued in favor or VIA dated and signed by an authorized representative of the Surety stating that if the Tender is successful, insurance policies in accordance with the contract will be issued following contract award.
