Subject matter: Fit-up of new VIA Rail Police Station within the VIA Rail Station Building.


Mandatory requirements

1) Insurance
Tenderer has the following minimal insurance coverage:

1. Commercial General Liability Insurance of [$5,000,000]
2. Standard Owners Form Automobile Liability Insurance of [$2,000,000]
3. All Risks insurance policy

Tenderer is requested to provide proof of meeting these insurance requirements by submitting a copy of their existing certificate in this Form of Tender.


2) Letter of Credit and bid bond or Bond Requirements

1. Bid Bond (10%)
2. Performance Bond (50%)
3. Material/Labour Bond (50%)

Provide a letter signed by an authorized representative of a recognized financial institution, stating that if the Tendered is awarded the contract they will issue a letter of credit for an amount equivalent to 50% of the value of the initial yearly contract fee and each subsequent contract year. Bid Bond issued in favour or VIA dated and signed by an authorized representative of the Surety
Or 
(1) Bid Bond issued in favour or VIA dated and signed by an authorized representative of the Surety
 
(2)& (3) Tenderer to provide VIA with a letter issued in favour or VIA dated and signed by an authorized representative of the Surety stating that if the Tender is successful, insurance policies in accordance with the contract will be issued following contract award.


3) Mandatory Site Visit
VIA Rail - London Station, July 11th, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. EASTERN
205 York St, London - Ontario, N6A 1B1
 
Tenderer must sign the site visit register.

*** No PPE required.


4) Experience
(a) General Contractor must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in similar project.
(b) Subcontractors must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in civil.


5) Date of completion of work
The works must be substantially completed within 20 weeks upon the contract award date.
The tenderer must show the date of end of works in the schedule including the key dates.

6) Commitment to respect all requirements and specifications
The Tenderer is complying with VIA requirements published and the Tenderer commits to respect them during the entire project duration.
