Description

Subject: The VIA Rail - Kingston Station has identified construction deficiencies in the existing underground passenger tunnel that are resulting in sufrace water infiltration into the passenger tunnel. As a result, VIA Rail completed strategic on-site investigation and assessment of the water infiltration. This project tender has been proposed to address the identified water infiltration concerns.

Mandatory criteria:

1) Insurance
Tenderer has the following minimal insurance coverage:

Commercial General Liability Insurance of [$5,000,000]
Standard Owners Form Automobile Liability Insurance of [$2,000,000]
All Risks insurance policy

Tenderer is requested to provide proof of meeting these insurance requirements by submitting a copy of their existing certificate in this Form of Tender.

2) Mandatory Site Visit
1800 John Counter Blvd, Kingston ON K7M 7H3

Meeting point: At the Main VIA Station Entrance
Tenderer must sign the site visit register.

3) Experience
(a) General Contractor must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in similar project.
(b) Subcontractors must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in civil.

4) Date of completion of work
The works must be substantially completed within 8 weeks upon the contract award date.
The tenderer must show the date of end of works in the schedule including the key dates.

5) Commitment to respect all requirements and specifications
The Tenderer is complying with VIA requirements published and the Tenderer commits to respect them during the entire project duration.
