VIA Rail Canada Inc. wishes to improve the travel experiences for its customers with hearing loss. To achieve that, VIA is looking for a portable, plug-in hearing loop solution (40 units to be delivered across Canada) to be installed at VIA Rail stations that doesn’t require construction. VIA requires the chosen supplier to finalize the shipping and the proper installation of the hearing loops (including calibration process) at VIA stations within 30 days upon the signature of the contract (details specfied in Scope of Work).
In order to submit the proposal, the Bidder must be able to comply with the following mandatory criteria:
1) Construction-free, portable, plug-in implementation
The solution must be a construction-free, portable, plug-in implementation, i.e., no adding/removing partitions, drilling holes, adding electrical outlets.
2) No interference with other medical equipment
The hearing loops must not interfere with other medical equipment/device(s).
3) Working condition
The solution must work with hearing aids and cochlear implants.
4) Must provide hearing loops pictogram signage
Signages of hearing loops pictogram must be provided.
If there’s text, it must be in large print, in both official languages (French and in English) and comply with local language laws.
