Description

This project objective is to upgrade the locker rooms and cafeterias at Vancouver Maintenance Center (VMC). The cafeteria at the VMC has been serving for more than 25 years without any ajor upgrade. They are multifunctional spaces for employees, used for lunches and breaks as well as for meetings and townhalls. Men and women’s locker areas include not only lockers but also showers and washrooms. Most of the employees use these spaces and installations on a daily basis. On top of that, an engineering study has shown that several walls at the VMC require reinforcement through seismic restraints to secure the building in the event of an earthquake.

Due to Covid-19, MANDATORY site visit may be split in smaller groups in order to respect the guidelines identified by the respective provincial and federal authorities. The number of attendees at the site is limited to one (1) per Tenderer.
While on the Railway property, you will be required to wear a mask, safety hat, safety glasses, reflective apparel (safety vest) and safety boots in accordance with the Railway’s regulations as stated in “Safety Guidelines for Contractors.” The potential Tenderers must be present for the Safety Briefing prior to entering the VIA Right-of-Way. Everyone must complete the Health & Safety Questionnaire 2 hours prior to the site visit and present it to the ViaRail Representative.
