DESCRIPTION OF PROCUREMENT
The University is conducting an RFP for a FTIR spectrometer for the purpose of establishing a new TCCON station at the Canadian High Arctic Research Station (CHARS) in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut. This instrument will be used to obtain precise and accurate column-averaged dry-mole fractions of the greenhouse gases CO2 and CH4. The use of dual detectors will provide additional information on biomass burning tracers (HCN, C2H6) so that C2H6:CH4 ratios can be used to distinguish sources of CH4 to the Arctic atmosphere. These new measurements will be combined with TCCON network-wide data, satellite measurements, and atmospheric models to address a range of scientific objectives.
The RFP is anticipated to involve negotiation. An electronic auction is not anticipated.
