DESCRIPTION OF PROCUREMENT
The University is conducting an RFP for Polymer Powder 3D Printer
The Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering requires a polymer powder 3D printing machine that can be used to print wide variety of polymer-based parts including but not limited to polyamide (Nylon), polystyrene (PS), polypropylene (PP), thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), polyether block amide (PEBA), and poly-vinyl alcohol (PVOH), etc.
The equipment should be suited to manufacture dental and medical products such as surgical instruments, complex mass and customized implants, crowns, caps, model castings as well as secondary structures. The system should also be able to create components that can dramatically reduce weight and part count while increasing functionality. This system should enable tool-less prototyping of polymer components and allowing complex geometries that were impossible with traditional manufacturing, reducing development costs while increasing speed to market. The system should also be compatible with commercial material feedstock, as well as having the flexibility to accommodate custom made feedstock by adjusting print parameters, this enables novel material development. The system should comprise a CAD/CAM system.
The delivery, installation, system testing and warranty support and service will take place at the following location:
