DESCRIPTION OF PROCUREMENT
The University is conducting an RFP for Melt Electrowriting (MEW) System
The MEW device will be purchased by Simmons Lab, a part of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Institute of Biomedical Engineering, and Translational Biology and Engineering Program. Biofabrication and tissue engineering are examples of research focus in these departments/centres. The MEW device will be used for the fabrication of polymeric fibrous scaffolds with defined fibre morphology. These scaffolds will ultimately be used for engineering soft connective (e.g., heart valve) and vascular tissues. The device will also be used for other 3D bioprinting applications, including multiple materials (polymers, including UV cross-linkable, and hydrogels) and cells with spatial control, and printing of curved and tubular structures.
The procurement is anticipated to involve negotiation. An electronic auction is not anticipated.

CONTRACT DETAILS
The term of Agreement is intended to be for a period of up to four (4) years including the first year of warranty period and optional up to three (3) years of extended warranty.
