Description:
This Request for Proposals (“RFP”) is an invitation by Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering on behalf of The Governing Council of the University of Toronto (the “University”) to prospective Proponents to submit Proposals for the provision of a combinational scanning probe microscope system.
The University is looking for a Proponent to provide a combinational scanning probe microscope system. The purpose of this microscope system is to enable high-resolution imaging, characterization, and manipulation of samples under a wide range of experimental and environmental conditions and within various applications. The system will enable direct measurements of nanoscale characteristics, including but limited to sample topography, mechanical, electrical, chemical, and magnetic properties. Key features of the system will include but not be limited to sample positioning, ease of direct integration with optical microscopes, fluid exchange, and rapid scanning, and other features as listed in the RFP.
The instrumentation will be located at the University of Toronto. It will operated and maintained only by highly trained technicians, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in the Laboratory for Single Molecule Biophysics.
It is the University’s intention to enter into the Form of Agreement with only one (1) legal entity. The term of the Agreement is to be for a period of one (1) year, with an option in favour of the University to extend the Agreement on the same terms and conditions for an additional term of up to four (4) years at one (1) year intervals
