The University of Toronto (The University) has a requirement for a 2p-Random Access Mesoscope (“System”) to support research on behaving animals to understand the neural mechanisms of cognitive behaviors. The cerebellum acts as an interchanging hub regulating behavior adaptively. The research will define brain-wide information integration and coordination by focusing on the cerebellum-global brain interplay and cerebellar microcircuitry across cognitive contexts. This research will uncover new targets for therapeutic research for mental disorders (e.g., autism and schizophrenia). The 2p-RAM is the key foundation of the recording platform, providing comprehensive and unprecedented high-speed single-cell whole-brain neural dynamics, to dissect the neural mechanisms. The ACAN document outlines the minimum specification/requirements for the instrument.
