This Request for Proposals (“RFP”) is an invitation by the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM), Library to prospective Proponents to submit Proposals for the Provision of Security Guard Services.
The Security Services Provider shall provide security services for the UTM Hazel McCallion Academic Learning Centre (HMALC), a ten-year-old facility. The HMALC has approximately 108,000 sq. ft. of space over four floors, has approximately 1200 study spaces, over 170 computer workstations for students and library catalogue resources numbering over 350,000 items. The Potential Security Service Providers will demonstrate the ability to financially sustain the guard force and complete all aspects of the contract if awarded.
 
The guards will be working during predetermined times while the Library is operating. The Proponent shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, materials and supplies to perform the required services.  The Proponent shall possess valid credentials evidencing Security Guard Registration as required by law.
 
As security demands dictate, additional security guards may be required by the University on short notice and for various lengths of time. The Proponent shall have available for immediate assignment to the University supplemental personnel sufficient to cover all regularly assigned duties and other occasional services. Requests from other clients for additional security service shall be billed and managed separately.
