DESCRIPTION OF PROCUREMENT
Partial Replacement of the Humanities Wing Roof.
The Facilities Management Department at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC), requests a supplier of roofing services to remove, dispose and replace roof systems of the Humanities Wing roof fBuilding located at 1265 Military Trail, Toronto, ON, Canada, M1C 1A4.
Scope of Work Highlights
Work included is as follows:

removal, disposal and replacement of the roof systems

A. Cold-Process Protected Membrane Roof System.

progressive removal and disposal of the existing roof membrane system including all counterflashings down to structural decking, except for light-weight insulated concrete pavers that are found in re-usable condition.
wood blocking, plywood and cant strips shall be re-used unless they are found to be damaged or warped.
Installation of new dual waterproofing system consisting of polyester reinforced Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) elastomeric sheeting adhered in single component moisture curing urethane fluid applied membrane.
Installation of new polyester reinforced SBR elastomeric flashing adhered in trowel grade moisture curing urethane mastic.
Reinforcement of all seams with trowel grade moisture curing urethane mastic and fiberglass reinforcing mesh.
Installation of new 4 Mil polyethylene slip sheet over roof membrane and all lap seams.
re-installation of light-weight insulated concrete pavers previously stored for re-use. Replacement of damaged pavers with new to match the existing.
Installation of new counterflashings and accessories as specified.
provision of two-year Ontario Industrial Roofing Contractors Association (OIRCA) standard labour and material installer’s warranty.
a twenty-year labour and materials manufacturer’s warranty is required.

B. Replacement of the Damaged Roof System Components

- supply of two-foot by two-foot (2’x 2’) light-weight insulated concrete pavers
- supply and installation of new perimeter wood blocking to replace existing found damaged.

The procurement is subject to the following conditions for participation:
Proponents will adhere to the University of Toronto General Labour Conditions.

CONTRACT DETAILS
One time only purchase of services for specified scope of work.
Milestone Schedule:
Pre-Construction Meeting                                     January 6, 2025
Commence the Work                                           January 15, 2025
Substantial Completion                                         February 15, 2025
Final Completion                                                   February 28, 2025

The Proponents Meeting will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 10:00 a.m..
Attendees are to meet the Project Manager inside the main entrance of the Science Wing Building (level 3) at the University of Toronto Scarborough, 1265 Military Trail, Toronto, ON M1C 1A4.
