Over the past two years, TVO has been gradually transitioning its office collaboration suite of tools to Office 365, with a focus on providing its employees the ability to work effectively regardless of where they are located. This initiative was started to support the Transform Work policy introduced by the People and Culture (P&C) division, which provides employees with choices on flexible work schedules and the ability to work from home. This has also proven extremely valuable to TVO, as the COVID-19 pandemic hit Toronto and our entire workforce switched to working remotely.
Along with the deployment of Office 365, our technology team had also retrofitted most of our meeting rooms with 65” to 75” display screens along with Crestron UC-B30-T hardware that has full integration with Microsoft Teams. This hardware provided built-in camera and microphone integration with MS Teams ensuring that meetings can be held with attendees being present at the office or connecting from anywhere remotely. The setup also provided a simplistic and intuitive design by introducing a touch screen control panel to manage meeting room calendars, present from laptops and seamlessly integrate with MS Teams to invite and collaborate with employees working remotely.
This standard setup, however, was configured only in meeting rooms that accommodated a small group of attendees (i.e. no more than 12). We are, therefore, left with two large boardrooms that require more complex configurations to account for large windows, accordion separation walls and challenging acoustics. Due to these challenges, the existing technologies in these boardrooms are complex and not intuitive resulting in recurring technical issues experienced by staff during meetings and presentations. As such, TVO is seeking the help of professional implementation services to replace existing technologies in these two meeting rooms with modern, intuitive and fully integrated technologies to work seamlessly with MS Teams.
