Description

Supply all labor, expertise, material and equipment to perform the rail milling of rails for lines 1, 2 and 4 of the TTC’s Subway System.
Gauge conversion of the Rail Milling Machine means the conversion of the machine to TTC specific gauge (1495 mm).
RAIL MILLING - SUBWAY
The Subway System as shown on W8RT-981-1 is non-standard, wide gauge, 4’ 10 7/8” (1495mm) with a minimum radius of 230 feet in the yard and 380 feet on the mainline. On the Subway System, the rail to be milled will be 115 lb.
The milling machine must be able to remove 0.3 to 1.5 mm of metal from the rail surface in one pass with the milling speeds of 300 to 800 m/h
