for the Facilities Management Unit

The engagement is to acquire resources with the requisite skills, background, architectural design, construction project management, property management, facility management experience and professional accreditation to provide services to the Facilities Management Unit under the Operations Support pillar of the TPS.

This position will be responsible for providing strategic and technical project management on a full range of facility projects. This position will be responsible from project initiation /feasibility into full implementation and closeout. This can involve the creation of procurement documents, business cases, briefing notes, board reports, schedule and budgets. The position will involve overseeing managing the design and construction on behalf of TPS. The positon requires full understanding of project management process: project initiation, planning, executing, monitoring & control and, project closeout, etc. with respect to facility renovations and new construction.

Engineering or Architecture university degree or certified civil engineering /architectural technician and technologist diploma and/or certificate in project management in construction or facility management.
Equivalent combination of professional work experience and various educations related to project management, architecture, civil engineering etc. is beneficial.

Requires valid Ontario driver’s license in good standing.

The term of the contract is for a period of 12months, commencing sometime in November 2018, and pending security background checks. The TPS reserves the right to extend the contract for an additional one year term subject to satisfactory performance, budget availability, and services required. The TPS also reserves the right pending workload issues to recruit one additional Project Manager, at the discretion of the TPS
