Overview
 
The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) is a non- share capital corporation without share capital. Among its responsibilities are the management, operation and maintenance of Toronto Pearson International Airport.
 
Toronto Pearson is Canada’s largest and busiest airport, North America’s second largest international airport (as measured by the total number of annual international and transborder passengers) and the 33rd largest airport in the world as measured by the total number of annual passengers. It is the hub for some 456,000 flights and over 44 million passengers annually. Toronto Pearson is experiencing significant growth and is expected to grow to 60 million passengers per annum by 2022.
 
The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) is seeking submissions from respondents who are interested, experienced, and capable of delivering construction projects at the GTAA.
 
The GTAA’s annual Capital Portfolio include approximately 150 projects ranging from $500,000 to $1 billion
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
DETAILS OF THE OPPORTUNITY
 
 
Purpose
 
The intent of this RFEOIP-Q is to Pre-qualify General Contractors who are deemed experienced and capable of completing the construction projects based on different delivery models (i.e. General Contractor ,Construction Manager at Risk and Design & Build) and per pre-determined terms & conditions.
This pre-qualification will be for three years initially with the option of two years extension.
 
The work will be divided into three categories:
1.      Small Works - Projects with a budget smaller than $5M
2     .Medium Works -Projects with a budget ranging between $5M to $20M
3.     Large Works- Projects with a budget greater than $20M
 
Without necessarily limiting the scope of Services GTAA is looking for the multidisciplinary skills that shall be supplied by the General Contractors.
 
GTAA needs General Contractors who think like the GTAA thinks and who understand and behave in line with GTAA goals, values and ways of working, simply because they will have such a crucial role in helping GTAA to achieve these.
 
This RFEOIP-Q will request information regarding your company, products and services and experience delivering the requirements. The same information will be gathered from different organizations and will be used to give GTAA further insight on what the market has to offer and will help to refine GTAA’s requirements. GTAA is inviting innovation and fresh thinking to historical challenges in order to improve our operation in terms of more agility and intelligence using sustainable solutions.
 
The General Contractor shall provide management, administrative, engineering services and all technical services required for the construction of all projects.
 
GTAA will be looking for the following as a minimum:

• Readiness and ability to commence operations in July 2018
• Experience managing complex projects in a fast-paced environment
• Managing project deliverables in line with the project plan and Budget
• Periodic Project progress reporting in terms of Schedule, Cost, Risk, Change Management, Quality and Health & Safety
• Procurement Processes
• Measures and processes to monitor subcontractors and supplier’s performance
• Manages Stakeholder involvement
• Build positive working relationships with client and client satisfaction assurance
• Managing project change and escalation of issues where necessary
• Value Engineering and Innovation
• Promotion GTAA values and standards
