Description

The Township of South Glengarry will be constructing a new Public Works Facility and has completed a Garage Location Study to optimize the location for the new facility. The move to a new facility has provided an opportunity to review the delivery of winter road maintenance services.

The current winter maintenance operations are deployed from two Public Works Facilities and a total of 390 Centre Line Kilometres of roads are maintained by the Township’s forces utilizing 10 routes with 7 deployed from the western Public Works Facility to be located on Airport Road and 3 deployed from the existing Public Works Facility in North Lancaster.

The Township would like to complete a Route Optimization Study to effectively move resources through a transportation network without redundancy and duplication of effort, with the goal of realizing operational efficiencies.
