SFU has a requirement for a Cryomagnetic Magnetic Property Management System. This equipment will be used for a research program focused on the growth of a variety of materials classes, including inter-metallics, oxides, thin films, and metal-coordination polymers and single-molecule magnetic complexes. This requires fast sample screening by fully automated magnetic property measurements. For optimal synthesis parameters, it is necessary to characterize and study the magnetic properties of materials over a wide range of temperatures and under strong applied magnetic fields.
It is SFU’s intention to award a contract for a 7 Tesla MPMS3 Cryogen-Free Measurement System with DC scan, Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM), and He-3 measurement options, to Quantum Design Inc.
This purchase is funded by Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI). As of the issuing date of this ACAN, application for portions of the funds is being approved.
An ACAN is a public notice indicating to the supplier community that SFU intends to award a contract for goods, services, or construction to a pre-identified supplier, thereby allowing other suppliers to signal their interest in bidding, by submitting a statement of capabilities. If no supplier submits a Statement of Capabilities that meets the requirements set out in the ACAN, on or before the submission deadline stated in the ACAN, SFU may then proceed with the award to the pre-identified supplier. If other potential suppliers submit Statements of Capabilities during the posting period, and meet the requirements set out in this ACAN, SFU may proceed to a Request for Proposal process.
