205798 - RFP-RP2024-011 Thetis Lake Dams – Comprehensive Dam Safety Review

The Capital Regional District (“CRD”) Regional Parks division is seeking proposals from suitably qualified firms to conduct a comprehensive Dam Safety Review (DSR) on the three Thetis Lake dams located within Thetis Lake Regional Park, at the north end of 6 Mile Road in View Royal, BC. The DSR is to cover all saddle dams, the reservoir rim, the spillway, the auxiliary spillway, the plunge pool, and all water conveyance structures, including all points of flow control.
Thetis Lake Dams consist of three (3) earthen dam structures situated around Thetis Lake (Lower and Upper), located in View Royal, within Thetis Lake Regional Park (Lat. 48.464978, Deg North; Long. -123.468122 Deg West). The Thetis Lake Dams have a dam failure consequence classification ranging from “high” to “very high”. The project will be conducted as per the provincial and Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC) guidelines for a comprehensive dam safety review and will consist of four (4) main phases of work: a review of available information and data, field review, investigation and evaluation, and finalizing the report.
