BCFSA is a regulatory Crown Agency of the Government of British Columbia responsible for supervision and regulation of the financial service sector in British Columbia, including credit unions, trust and insurance companies, pension plans, mortgage brokers, real estate professionals, and the Credit Union Deposit Insurance Corporation. Its mandate is to protect the rights of British Columbians by promoting high standards of market conduct within the financial services sectors. As a modern, effective, and efficient regulator, BCFSA is committed to providing oversight that ensures fair, transparent processes that benefit the public. BCFSA provides the information and guidance necessary to enable industry participants to comply with legislative requirements and best practices. BCFSA is seeking proposals from qualified vendors and professional service firms:

1. Data governance platform selection and implementation a. to recommend and onboard a robust data governance platform service that offers core capabilities of data governance, metadata management, data quality management, data cataloging, and master data management. The platform should be compatible with BCFSA’s Azure cloud platform.

2. Professional service to support the implementation of the data governance roadmap a. To build BCFSA Data model, Reference Architecture and support BCFSA data team on four to six use cases

The successful Proponent will onboard the platform selected and purchased by BCFSA and provide implementation support including workforce training, system integration, and maintenance of the recommended data governance platform with a detailed plan and guidance. Moreover, training and onboarding support for key data governance personas (e.g. Data Owner, Data Steward, Data Custodian, and Data Governance Lead) and relevant business and technology users should be provided as well.
