NOI 20991 - Supply of Passive Reflector for Microwave Transmission

British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority (“BC Hydro”) requires Microwave Passive Reflector of 8ft x 10ft size with Support Structure. Support structure should not be taller than 25ft. Ground Clearance of the reflector should be min 15ft. Passive reflector and the support structure must comply with TIA 222 -latest standard. Structural parts must pass Charpy Test at -20c. Support structure should have more than One Anchor Bolt in each leg for foundation.

Proposed Contract Award
Notice is hereby given by BC Hydro and Power Authority of its intent to direct award a contract to Valmont Industries, Inc. 3575 25th Street SE, Salem, OR 97302 to supply the above-noted BC Hydro requirements.

The contract is expected to order 1 unit of the 8ft x 10ft Microwave Passive Reflector and Supporting Structure with Custom Base Plate that includes Custom Anchor Bolts, Charpy Tests for Structure Parts and a Certificate issued by Professional Engineer conforming that the passive reflector and supporting structure comply with TIA 222 -Latest Standard. for delivery to BC Hydro Store-1, 12345 88 Ave, Surrey, BC, V3W 5Z9

Justification
BC Hydro has not called for supplier proposals for this contract. After careful research and consideration, it is believed that the supplier identified above is the only supplier capable of meeting the specific requirements of this engagement.
