203088 - EMS Panasonic G2 Toughbook

Notice is hereby given that BC Emergency Health Services (“BCEHS”), supported by the Provincial Health Services Authority (“PHSA”), intends to directly award a Contract to the following supplier to provide Panasonic G2 Toughbooks and warranty service support for BCEHS Paramedics and 55 new BCEHS ambulances, for a term of one year at an estimated value of $500,000.00.

In accordance with applicable trade agreements, BC Emergency Health Services has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason:
 the goods or services can be supplied only by the selected supplier and no alternative or substitute exists for the following reason:

To ensure compatibility with existing goods, or to maintain specialized goods that must be maintained by the manufacturer of those goods or its representative.

Rational
BCEHS is urgently required to outfit 55 new ambulances with specifically configured Panasonic Toughbooks. To ensure the continued supply and support of these essential products, with stable pricing, BCEHS will direct award a contract to the current vendor until the completion of an upcoming competitive process for future contracts.

Vendors who wish to challenge this decision should submit a detailed written objection for the attention of Mark Fiset, Buyer, Procurement and Contract Management, by email before 2:00pm Pacific Time, August 22nd 2024. PHSA will review any and all issues received by this date and provide due consideration to each objection
