Description

Notice is hereby given that Fraser Health Authority and Vancouver Coastal Health (the “Health Authority(s)”), through their collective agent Provincial Health Services Authority (“PHSA”), intends to directly award a Contract to the following supplier to provide 45 HemoSphere Cardiac Monitoring System for Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH), Abbotsford Regional Hospital (ARH) and Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) for a term of two (2) years at an estimated value of $3,844,800.00.

In accordance with applicable trade agreements, PHSA, as agent for the Health Authorities has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason:

the goods or services can be supplied only by the selected supplier and no alternative or substitute exists for the following reason:

to ensure compatibility with existing products/systems

RCH, ARH, and VGH require 45 HemoSphere Cardiac Monitoring Systems to add to their existing fleets. Only EDWARDS Lifesciences is capable of supplying the clinical specification and system interoperability needed at these sites and the compatible software to connect to existing HemoSphere monitors which is proprietary to EDWARDS Lifesciences.
Vendors who wish to challenge this decision should submit a detailed written objection for the attention of Morvarid Ghasemi, by email before 2:00pm Pacific Time, June 28th, 2024. PHSA will review any and all issues received by this date and provide due consideration to each objection.
