Description

Notice is hereby given that Fraser Health Authority (the “Health Authority”), through their agent Provincial Health Services Authority (“PHSA”), intends to directly award a Contract to the following supplier to provide sixty (60) Exam Light, Rail Boom Mounted, Single for Royal Columbian Hospital for a term of two (2) years at an estimated value of $91,750.

In accordance with applicable trade agreements PHSA, as agent for the Health Authority has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason:

the goods or services can be supplied only by the selected supplier and no alternative or substitute exists for the following reason:

to ensure compatibility with existing products/systems

Royal Columbian Hospital’s Critical Care patient rooms currently have Amico boom rails, clinical requires an exam light to be mounted on the boom rail. We considered other suppliers, however their mounting solution is not compatible with the Amico boom rail, and would require to manufacturer a custom-made bracket which will result in a more expensive solution. Amico is the only supplier that is able to supply an exam light with a compatible mounting solution to the Amico rail boom.
Suppliers who wish to challenge this decision should submit a detailed written objection for the attention of Morvarid Ghasemi, by email before 2:00pm Pacific Time, May 7,2024. PHSA will review any and all issues received by this date and provide due consideration to each objection.
