Description

The overall objective of the Dam Safety Review (DSR) is to assess and evaluate the safety of the dam and its associated works, including identification of dam safety deficiencies, non-conformances, and operation, maintenance and surveillance (OMS) issues along with recommendations for remediation and risk mitigation/management.
In general, the DSR shall comply with the requirements of the:
• Scope of Work as outlined in the attached Terms of Reference (TOR);
• Water (Ministerial) Regulation (253/2018) – Part 6;
• Alberta Dam and Canal Safety Directive 2018;
• Alberta Dam Safety Management Plan – Standards Document ; and
• Dam Safety Best Practices including Canadian Dam Association (CDA) Guidelines, and Technical Bulletins.
In case there is a conflict in the requirements, the Water (Ministerial) Regulation and Alberta Dam and Canal Safety Directive shall take precedence
