Description

The objective of the Dam Safety Review (DSR) is to assess and evaluate the safety of Travers Dam and its appurtenant structures, including identification of dam safety deficiencies, non-conformances, and operations, maintenance and surveillance (OMS) issues, along with recommendations for remediation and risk mitigation / management.
In general, the DSR shall comply with the requirements of the:
• Scope of Work and timelines as outlined in the attached Terms of Reference;
• Water (Ministerial) Regulation (253/2018) – Part 6;
• Alberta Canal and Dam Safety Directive 2018;

Classification: Protected A
• Alberta Dam Safety Management Plan – Standards Document
• Dam Safety best practices, including Canadian Dam Association (CDA) Guidelines and Technical Bulletins.
In case there is a conflict in the requirements, the Water (Ministerial) Regulation and Alberta Dam and Canal Safety Directive shall take precedence.
