TS0321 - Net-Zero Emissions Pathways on Rural Agricultural Producers and Grid Impacts

This Request for Proposals (“RFP”) is an invitation to prospective proponents by Alberta Innovates on behalf of the Alberta Smart Grid Consortium (“ASGC”), to submit proposals regarding the impacts of Net-Zero Pathways on agricultural producers and the electric distribution system.

This RFP invites proponents to propose a study (the “Study”) approach focused on the rural distribution system impacts of the agricultural industry’s net-zero transition. Further, the Study will consider and analyze the end-consumers’ cost impacts due to the net zero transition. The goal of the Study is to provide a complete picture of the impact of decarbonization on agricultural grid users. The work presented in the Study is meant to create significant value to Distribution Facility Owners (“DFOs”) and their agricultural customers. Ultimately the Study will act as a foundational document to support future Alberta Utility Commission (“AUC”) proceedings and assist policymakers in decarbonization and electrification initiatives and decision making.
