BVC_2024NOA0003 - Headversity Program

The headversity program is an integral component of the College's approach to wellness support for employees. The program is well used by employees for daily wellness/resiliency training, as well as crisis intervention (i.e. 521 employees enrolled). Changing this service now could have a psychological health impact on employees that are depending on this service. Further headversity has been established as a health and wellness resource connected the Healthy Campus Committee, with plans to deliver Mental Health Foundations training for leaders and employees through the Cert function. In addition, headversity has as an in house (not outsourced), Alberta based research team with a PhD and Medical Doctor with research experience and expertise with Alberta Post-Secondary Institutions (i.e. contracted with at least five other Alberta Post-Secondary Institutions). This expertise provides employees with access to proprietary curriculum grounded in resilience science, psychology, and psychiatry, thereby contributing to positive mental resilience outcomes. The College will be going to competitive bid for a new contract in three (3) years.
